General Summary of Position:
The Offices of Research Administration (ORA) and Institutional Compliance (OIC) consist of pre-award grants and contracts management, post-award grants management and research accounting, and institutional compliance. The Assoc. Vice Chancellor provides oversight of both offices, is responsible for ensuring effective administration of the University's sponsored research portfolio, and supports faculty researchers. This position supports the Assoc. Vice Chancellor and works closely with the Directors of ORA and OIC through: assistance with special projects to improve the efficiency of ORA and OIC, conducting general administrative activities, liaising with faculty and administrative staff across the campus, and supporting the operational needs of the Assoc. Vice Chancellor, ORA and OIC. The Assistant to the Assoc. Vice Chancellor will also help manage office purchasing and maintain the ORA webpage.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):
-HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required, with Bachelors degree preferred
-8-10 years of administrative experience, including at least 1-2 years supporting senior level managers
For candidates with a Bachelors degree, administrative experience of 5 or more years will be considered, including 1-2 years supporting senior level managers
-The ability to work effectively with diverse groups
-Extensive experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint software

Other Considerations:
-Experience in a higher education setting and/or in the field of grant administration a plus
-Ability to be flexible, take initiative and manage multiple priorities
-Ability to work under pressure of deadlines
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-Experience with PeopleSoft, Cayuse, BuyWays, SUMMIT, and CitiBank OneCard management systems
-Ability to work well with many different personalities and work styles
-Strong attention to detail and accuracy for input and tracking of various spreadsheets; strong organizational skills
