Job Description

General Purpose of Job: Perform duties in the vinegar plant to meet required shipping needs for production and customer orders. Offload incoming raw material tankers needed for these required production needs as well as load tankers for daily shipments.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Operating the vinegar plant acetators in the most efficient manner possible.
• Daily testing of the acetators, morning and afternoon checks, discharges etc.
• Making up feed tankers to supply the acetators.
• Testing of all incoming tankers of cider stock, wine stock, 190 proof SDA #29 alcohol, etc.
• Cleaning ultra filters when needed.
• Organizing and performing inventories on the tank farm.
• Maintaining the cooling towers (ie. chlorine levels {including shock treatments}, controlling growth buildup.)
• Work with the vinegar plant operators to insure that the proper products are brought into the basement tanks to meet production schedules.
• Communicate with your Supervisor, the Production Supervisor, the Vinegar Plant Supervisor, and the Scheduler to anticipate and solve problems that would adversely effect plant production.
• Maintaining the alkographs.
• Frequent climbing of stairs is required along with lifting (at least 50 lbs) and moving of various materials required.
• Position covered by Vinegar Plant personnel
• Work requires a rotating week-end schedule.
• Responsible for immediately identifying non-conforming product or equipment to their supervisor at any step of the operation.
• Insure the operation of a clean and safe environment as mandated by Pilgrim Foods, Good Manufacturing Practices, state and Federal Laws.
• Responsible for food safety and quality.
• HACCP duties as assigned.
• Any other duties that may be assigned by a supervisor.

Education/ Experience:

o GED or equivalent. Must be proficient in Math.
