The University of Colorado Denver Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking applications for a Professional Research Assistant. This is a full-time, University Staff (non-classified) position.

Nature of Work:

A professional research assistant is being sought to oversee grant-funded clinical research at Children's Hospital Colorado. The professional research assistant to be hired will be responsible primarily for the day-to-day operations of clinical research studies in infants, children, and adolescents with genetic syndromes and/or endocrine disorders. The position will involve participant recruitment and retention, scheduling study visits, overseeing participant visits in the Clinical and Translational Research Center and administering study assessments, database management, study regulatory requirements, and administrative duties. The successful candidate will be trained to conduct a variety of assessments, including obtaining a medical history, body composition, exercise testing, qualitative interviewing, and biological specimen processing. Opportunities for this position include: (1) direct contact with children/adolescents and families; (2) training in a wide range of assessments for cardiometabolic health; (3) mentorship from expert collaborators in the fields of pediatrics, endocrinology, and neurodevelopment; and (4) potential for authorship on scientific publications and presentations. This opening is currently for a two-year position, but there may be an opportunity for continuation after that time, dependent on performance and funding.

This position will be supervised by Dr. Kristen Nadeau.

Duties / Examples of Work Performed:

Recruit study participants, database maintenance and data entry, oversee participant visits in the pediatric Clinical Translational Research Center, handle and store biological specimens, conduct study assessments with participants, assist with participant retention, manage expenses, and assist with documentation of regulatory compliance.

Salary and Benefits:

The hiring salary for this position is $35,000 - $45,000 and is negotiable and commensurate with skills and experience. This position may become eligible for overtime compensation. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with children
