Position Summary

The UNCG Center for Youth, Family and Community Partnerships, Juvenile Justice Initiatives Section is seeking an individual to support Juvenile Justice Behavioral Health Partnership teams. The specialist will work with the following teams in the eastern part of the state. This is a part time (50%) position:
1. Trillium North (meetings in Elizabeth City or Williamston)
2. Trillium Central (meetings in Greenville or New Bern)
3. Eastpointe Rocky Mount (meetings in Rocky Mount or Wilson)
4. Eastpointe Goldsboro (meetings in Goldsboro or Kinston)
5. Eastpointe Lumberton (meetings in Lumberton)
6. District 6 (meetings in Jackson or Hertford, Bertie, Northhampton Counties)
7. Alliance Cumberland-(meetings in Fayetteville)
8. Alliance Wake-(meetings in Raleigh)
Travel to these locations will be reimbursed from the individual's home. There is an expectation to travel to UNCG at least once per month and Raleigh at least once per month and this travel is reimbursed. This position requires following of UNCG travel policies. This individual will provide support by the following:

a. Provide support to the local JJBH team's yearly plan on addressing needs for juvenile justice involved youth and families in the areas of more treatment, better treatment, and beyond treatment including once per month or every other month site visits depending on team
b. Provide phone and webinar consultation to support local team's plan when requested
c. Provide training with teams in coordination with the UNCG Training and Technical Assistance Manager
d. Attend JJBH State Subcommittee meetings
e. Attend local UNCG JJBH planning meetings by webinar or in person and provide feedback to teams
f. Assist teams in reviewing and utilizing their local data
g. Provide training on best practices and supporting teams in their best practice implementation such as process improvement, team fitness, facilitation skills, and youth and family engagement
h. Respond to teams' requests for support and reach out to UNCG team members when necessary
i. Provide monthly reports of activities to Project Director



Minimum Qualifications

1. Master's Degree in Human Services Field or a Bachelor's in Human Services Field and 3 years related experience.
2. Demonstrate at least three years experience working in either juvenile justice, behavioral health, social services, community programming, and/or managed care
3. Demonstrate at least three years experience working with cross-system or multidisciplinary teams
4. Experience in previous work or positions that require problem-solving skills and helping others to solve challenges
5. Demonstrated skills in providing feedback to individuals and/or groups
6. Experience in service delivery systems such as substance abuse, mental health, juvenile justice, community programming
7. Experience in training others and receiving feedback in training implementation
8. Experience in writing reports or documentation of activities and events
9. Experience utilizing Microsoft Word and Excel to generate written and data reports



Preferred Qualifications

1. Individual living in and cognizant of eastern regional systems
2. Experience in providing training to service delivery systems such as substance abuse, mental health, juvenile justice, or community programming
3. Experience in group processes, development, and group productivity
4. Experience in providing technical assistance to service delivery systems
5. Training and background in System of Care principles
6. Ability to interact with multidisciplinary teams/engage in collaborative problem solving processes
7. Demonstrated negotiation skills in working with groups or individuals
