Notre Dame of Maryland University is seeking a Business Analyst for the Office of the Provost. This is a full-time position in the Division of Academic Affairs. The basic function of the Business Analyst is to provide financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and analysis for the Academic Affairs and Student Life divisions. Develops, implements and monitors operating and capital budgets in coordination with the Provost/VPAA and the AVP for Student Life. Provides guidance and makes recommendations to solve special situations such as anticipated overspending problems. Works collaboratively with the Academic Deans and Chairs, Student Life directors, the Business Office, and Institutional Advancement team to ensure appropriate usage of funds.
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years of experience in the areas of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and analysis. Experience in higher education is preferred. Candidates should possess knowledge of budgetary and fiscal oversight in an academic setting. This position also requires strong interpersonal and communication skills. Candidates will need the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community, along with the ability to gather data, compile information, prepare reports, budget preparation, and fiscal management skills. The ability to use independent judgment, analyze and solve problems is essential. Candidates must possess skills in database management, organizing resources and establishing priorities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and a knowledge of general accounting principles are essential.
