HOURS: Flexible: Day, Evening and Weekends

CAMPUS: Willingness to teach at Barton, Brashier, Benson, Northwest and Off-Campus  

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
In this challenging role, you will support the Transitional Studies department at Greenville Technical College.   Duties may include any or all of the following:

  • Teach lectures and laboratories in English as a Second Language 
  • Prepare lectures, syllabi,  and tests
  • Grade and assess student work
  • Develop and implement new classroom strategies
  • Consult with students and advise on academic progress
  • Operate and maintain the equipment used in instruction
  • Maintain competence through continuous professional development
  • Perform other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A Masters in English or Education or a related field with English as a Second Language emphasis with TESL certification.           

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Masters in TESL or Linguistics and TESL certificate with English as a Second Language teaching and curriculum development experience. The ability to organize and present course content to students using effective verbal and written communications. Have the ability to lift and carry any equipment typically encountered in the instruction of the course, not to exceed 50 lbs, without assistance. Have the ability to work with colleagues/students and to convey knowledge in a form that students can understand.  Adaptable to students’ needs, to different teaching situations, and be able to motivate students.  Able to work in teams and independently.  Previous teaching experience.
