Briar Cliff University of Iowa, an institution committed to higher education within a liberal arts and Catholic perspective, seeks applications for tenure-track Assistant Professor in Composition and Rhetoric and Director of the Writing Center, beginning in the fall of 2017.  Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition in hand by time of hiring, demonstrated excellence in teaching college-level composition courses and in working at a university writing center, and ability to administer and assess writing center programs.  ESL/ELL experience is highly preferred.  The successful candidate will be a dynamic individual committed to fostering student achievement, program success, faculty development, and interdisciplinary coordination.  Duties include teaching multimodal lower-division writing courses and upper-division courses in grammar, linguistics, and composition theory; serving as the Director of the Writing Center; and coordinating writing assessments.
