Community Education Instructors



As an instructor for the Community Education department at Waubonsee Community College you'll help us fulfill our mission of providing personal enrichment courses and programs for residents of our district. Each semester we offer over 100 noncredit, enrichment courses for adults and youth (ages 4-14).

Instructors may teach existing courses and/or develop new courses to meet the needs and interests of the community. Instructors are needed to teach or develop courses for adults and youth in a wide variety of subject areas including, but not limited to:

Arts and crafts
Cooking
Performing arts
Fitness, wellness and recreation
Personal and family growth
Holistic living
Foreign Language - Spanish and Italian
Hobbies (gardening, knitting, collecting, etc.)
DIY home repair - plumbing and electrical
Astronomy and space
Technology
Computers, website development and coding
Robotics (youth)
Science (youth)
Veterinary (youth)

Course proposals in any subject area are welcome. Please include your specific course proposal in your cover letter.

We hire energetic, outgoing and knowledgeable instructors.

At a minimum, instructors should possess:

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

A relevant degree, professional experience and/or certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience teaching adults and/or youth in a non-credit, college, community or recreation setting.
