Job Description

3.1.10.1. Responsibilities
3.1.10.1.1. Provide full user support for WMATA's standard application software in order to meet needs
3.1.10.1.2. Conduct training in order to develop WMATA personnel's skills in the operations and capabilities of applications and systems
3.1.10.1.3. Implement system security measures such as backups, access control, system accounting and disaster recovery in order to maintain system integrity and availability
3.1.10.1.4. Install and configure internal hardware components such as memory, disk and tape drives in multi-user, personal computers (PCs) and WMATA servers in order to maintain or enhance system operation and capabilities
3.1.10.1.5. Perform troubleshooting and fault isolation on PCs, servers, LANs or related system components in simple configurations in order to maintain system availability

3.1.10.2. Minimum Requirements
3.1.10.2.1. Experience troubleshooting computer problems (hardware and/or software)
3.1.10.2.2. Associate degree from an accredited educational institution in Computer Science, Information Systems or a directly related field

3.1.10.3. Preferred Requirements
3.1.10.3.1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution in Computer Science, Information Systems or a directly related field

3.1.10.4. Experience Levels
3.1.10.4.1. Level 1: one (1) to three (3) years' experience (Search Engine Administrator, Application Administrator, System Administrator, Active Directory Administrator, Server Administrator, Desktop Technicians, UNIX Administrator, and NMS Administrator, Information System Support)
3.1.10.4.2. Level 2: four (4) to seven (7) years' experience (Search Engine Administrator, Application Administrator, System Administrator, Active Directory Administrator, Server Administrator, UNIX Administrator, and NMS Administrator, Information Systems Support Specialist)
3.1.10.4.3. Level 3: eight (8) or more years' experience (Senior System Administrator)
