Position Summary: A-State is seeking candidates for a 9-month, pre-tenure appointment at the Assistant Professor level. Faculty members deliver instruction, carry out research, perform service for their respective professions and community, and participate in the management of the University through shared governance. Teaching load of the faculty is normally twelve hours per semester.
Faculty work load includes:
Research, creative activity, service, and professional development in the best interest of the students and community at large
Student academic advisement responsibilities in addition to regular teaching loads
Set degree requirements, assess when they are met, and establish and maintain curricula that meet professional standards and fulfill the educational goals of the University
Deliver instruction and maintain a learning environment consistent with the highest standards of the profession
General Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Some night or weekend work may be required.

Knowledge/Skills/Ability: Experience with intern supervision
A classroom background teaching in the elementary grades
Experience with language arts including writing, and general educational methods
Expertise in language Arts, Social Studies, and Children's Literature
Minimum Qualifications: An earned doctorate, or equivalent advanced degree appropriate for the discipline, and professional experience appropriate to the discipline is required. An earned doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction or a strongly related field is required for tenure track--ABD will be considered. At least three years of classroom experience in grades K-6 will be needed.
