Adult Education & Safety Sciences - Full-Time, Tenure-Track Assistant Professor
The College of Education and Professional Studies currently has 100 full-time and over 100 part-time faculty organized in seven departments. The college offers 23 undergraduate majors and 28 graduate majors. All teacher education programs are CAEP accredited. Other programs are recognized at the state and national levels with accreditations by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), the American Dietetic Association (ADA), the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA), the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR), and the Oklahoma Educational Quality and Accountability Commission (OEQA). UCO’s College of Education and Professional Studies has an enrollment of nearly 4,800 students, about one-fourth of whom are graduate students. Assistant Professors must have completed all requirements in a doctoral program at an accredited or internationally recognized institution; or completed a non-doctoral degree program requiring a minimum of 60 graduate hours. Teaching; research; departmental/school, college and university service is expected. This position is full-time, tenure-track position.

Willingness to embrace a learner-centered philosophy and environment is a must.
Advance growth in the Adult Higher Education program goals.
Teach full load of 12 graduate level hours in multiple formats each semester.
Teach and mentor students, supervise student research, evaluate student performance, and maintain department and student records in accordance with university policies.
Advise students on graduate plans of study.
Responsibilities will include bringing innovations to the program, but can extend beyond the parameters of the program to meet needs of the assigned college and may also include team teaching to support sharing of innovative learning methods with staff and faculty.
Demonstrate commitment to working in an environment devoted to transformative learning, professional development, scholarly inquiry and excellence in teaching.
Collaborate on interdepartmental programs and initiatives as well as communicate regularly and productively with other faculty members.
Serve on department, college, and university committees as requested.
Work in a collaborative, professional, collegiate manner with colleagues and professional peers.
Prepare departmental reports as requested.
Adhere to the educational philosophy of the university.
Salary Range: Commensurate with credentials and experience.
