The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, is accepting applications for a Associate Director for Leadership Programs in the Krause Center for Leadership and Ethics (KCLE). 

The mission of the KCLE is to integrate and advance The Citadel’s programs to educate and develop principled leaders. To accomplish this mission, the KCLE coordinates academic courses and seminars, leadership training classes, and robust service learning programs that prepare cadets for experiential leadership opportunities each year during The Citadel Experience. Additionally, the KCLE coordinates and executes annual Leadership Day activities and the Principled Leadership Symposium. Employees are expected to model The Citadel’s core values of honor, duty, and respect while carrying out the mission of the center.


Reporting to the Executive Director, the Associate Director for Leadership Programs has the following duties:

Supervise the Cadet Honor Committee education/training operations Manage all Honor System appeals processes Plan and coordinate LDRS-411, the Senior Leadership Integration Seminar Plan and coordinate Leadership Day Plan and coordinate the Principled Leadership Symposium Develop initiatives for future leadership programs Assist the Executive Director in all areas of operation for the KCLE as needed Knowledge, Experience, and Skills

Education: Master’s degree required Experience: Minimum three (3) years in higher education Demonstrated success in senior leadership positions in the military, private, or public sector Practical experience with an academic honor code Technical Skills: Ability to coordinate educational programs and events Excellent spoken and written communication skills Ability to prepare presentations, publications, and articles for diverse audiences, to include undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, staff, and alumni Ability to conduct presentations for large auditorium-sized groups Innovative ability to conceptualize ideas and translate them into programs Ability to mentor and counsel students Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

Military service academy or military college Professional fields related to leadership, character development, and ethics

Reports to the Executive Director Team-oriented professional work style Strong work ethic, self-motivated and positive attitude Attention to detail and deadlines with ability to manage competing demands for time
