Assist biological and medical scientists in laboratories. Set up, operate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment, monitor experiments, and record results. May assist in analyzing organic or non-organic substances.The candidate will work under the supervision of an Assistant Professor at North Texas Eye Research Institute. The candidate will work on glaucoma research projects.Representative Tasks* Assist in the conduct of research, including the collection of information and samples.* Analyze experimental data and interpret results to write reports and summaries of findings.* Keep detailed logs of all work-related activities.* Use computers, computer-interfaced equipment, or high-technology industrial applications to perform work duties.* Clean, maintain and prepare supplies and work areas.* Set up, clean, and maintain, laboratory and field equipment.* Measure or weigh compounds and solutions for use in testing.* Delivers supplies and laboratory specimens to designated work areas.* Maintains inventory reports and logs.Department Specific Responsibilities: Candidate will be performing following duties.* Must be able to work with rodents as well as bovine and human tissues.* Perform cell biology, molecular biology, and histology experiments.* Set up eye perfusion culture.* Perform rodent work such as intraocular pressure measurement, injection, surgery, and euthanasia.* Operate and maintain lab equipment.* Prepare reagents and culture medium.* Record, collect and analyze research data.The University of North Texas System is firmly committed to equal opportunity and does not permit - and takes actions to prevent - discrimination, harassment (including sexual violence), and retaliation on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, family status, genetic information, citizenship or veteran status in its application and admission processes, educational programs and activities, facilities, and employment practices.
