University of North Texas - HIM Specialist - Hourly
* This posting is an hourly position and is non-benefits eligible.The Student Health and Wellness Center at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire an hourly HIM Specialist to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following: * Monitors and assists patients with self-check-in and assisted check-in process. * Hires, supervises, and trains part-time employees in Medical Records Department. * Monitors the security and privacy of patients in the waiting room. * Assists with work flow and processing of medical paperwork for special clinics( flu, meningitis, tuberculosis, etc.).* Assists with scheduling functions of Psychiatric Clinic. * Assists with processing medical releases and scanning of medical records. * Maintains and monitors Class II prescription log book. * Assists with HIPAA training for new SHWC employees. * Supervises the input of medical information into the Electronic Medical Records messaging component. * Determines urgency of walk-in patients for medical assessment. * Interfaces with medical teams to expedite patient care. The successful candidate will possess a High School diploma or GED equivalent and three years of general office or clerical experience. Substitution of education for experience allowed.
