Summary of Duties
Under the direction of the Director of Multicultural Services, establishes a high profile office of multicultural student services that serves the needs of current and prospective UVU multicultural students and assists in the development and implementation of programs and services that help all students become interculuturally competent.

Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a directly related field and two years experience related to the Summary of Duties or a combination of education and/or experience totaling six years.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of function and operation of a multicultural center/office.

Knowledge of multicultural literature, training, curriculum development.

Considerable knowledge of various ethnic cultures.

Knowledge of general academic advising.

Knowledge of student leadership development.

Skills in public relations, interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making.

Skills in the techniques/methods of establishing training and in service programs to meet the needs of a multicultural center and students.

Skills with computers and computer applications.

Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Ability to develop and manage a budget.

Ability to supervise.

Ability to work with a diverse population.

Ability to cultivate and foster relationships with internal and external UVU partners.

Ability to mentor staff and students professionally and personally.
