Reporting to the Service Supervisor in Laval, Quebec, this position is responsible for the effective repair of earth moving machinery and equipment component, in the field at customer sites, to high levels of quality and customer satisfaction.
Perform new and used machinery preparation, scheduled maintenance, repair or overhaul, component replacement, commissioning and adjustment of mechanical/hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic equipment, including warranty upgrades
Recondition and repair equipment components and systems as assigned
Troubleshoot, inspect and diagnose machinery and components including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, engines, gearbox/drive train, A/C systems etc.
Perform pre-delivery inspections of equipment and new & used equipment preparation
Occasionally perform servicing on machinery as directed, including fluid checks, oil samples for analysis, oil and filter checks, changing lubricants, replacing filters, greasing machine components, etc.
Ensure components, material and/or equipment is inspected, is corrected to specifications and ensure timely delivery programs are achieved
Ensure all final verifications specified in work instructions, scope of work, verbal communication and specifications are carried out and complete
Accurate and timely submission of reports and technical documents including service reports
Operate and maintain tools, equipment and work areas in accordance with company policy
Minimum 5 years' experience working with heavy equipment in a related field
Recognized Heavy Equipment Technician designation required
High school diploma (or the equivalent), basic math skills
Experience repairing and maintaining heavy equipment required in a related field
Working knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
Communication of detailed and complex information in a clear and concise manner
MS Office, service reporting/time entry and parts ordering software
Specific equipment knowledge on earth moving machinery/equipment would be considered an asset
Valid driver's license
This work schedule is a 5X2 shift, with the requirement to work overtime as per business needs. Regular travel within region and occasional travel in Canada and internationally will be required.
