Assistant Professor of Instruction, English and First Year Writing, Temple University
The English Department plans to hire one full-time non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Instruction in First Year Writing. The position will begin in August of 2017. The department is primarily interested in candidates who demonstrate an outstanding record of teaching composition. Additional expertise in professional writing, second language writing, and/or teaching with technology is welcome but not necessary. A Master’s degree is required and a Ph.D is preferred. The selected candidate will teach three or four First Year Writing classes per semester with occasional opportunities to teach upper-level writing, literature, or other non-composition courses. Starting salary is $46,725 with Ph.D.; health benefits provided.
