About the College/Department

The University Libraries system is comprised of David W. Mullins (main) Library, the Physics Library, the Chemistry and Biochemistry Library, the Fine Arts Library, and the Robert A. and Vivian Young Law Library. Combined holdings number over 2 million volumes. The libraries participate in the Greater Western Library Alliance, the Center for Research Libraries, and other state and national consortia. Library personnel (FTE) include 59 faculty and professional staff, 67 support staff, and 27 student assistants.

Summary of Job Duties

The Library Technician provides support for gift materials received from Donors, including bibliographic records preparation and creating and maintaining databases/spreadsheets. Helps selectors with physically bringing in new gift collections to the Library. Supports the Technical Services Department, including receiving library materials for the Acquisitions unit and performing binding or preservation duties. The Library Technician supports the interlibrary loan services program with processing the received and loaned library materials. The Library Technician will also provide support on performing all postal operations for the University Libraries, managing all supplies transactions and inventories, and assisting the Administrative Services Division in special projects as needed.

  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
  • Two years of experience in a library environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Razorbuy Web application
  • Experience with data entry
