The West Virginia University Eye Institute, Department of Ophthalmology, announces an outstanding faculty opportunity for a comprehensive ophthalmologist. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will be actively involved in teaching medical students and ophthalmology residents. There are opportunities for clinical and basic research.
The WVU Eye Institute, which houses the Department of Ophthalmology, is the only tertiary eye center in West Virginia and draws patients from around the state and the surrounding areas. Our clinical faculty provides care to over 35,000 patients per year in addition to staffing clinic and performing surgery at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in nearby Clarksburg, WV.
Successful candidates must have an MD, MD/PhD or DO degree (the employer accepts foreign educational equivalent) and be eligible to obtain an unrestricted West Virginia medical license. Candidates must be ABO certified/eligible.
At the WVU Eye Institute you will treat a diverse population and have exposure to clinically challenging cases. Our state-of-the art facility houses all subspecialties of ophthalmology as well as an active research program. This University-based practice is rapidly expanding with a vast patient population offering the opportunity to be busy quickly.
