The Department of Art offers five degree options, Bachelor of Fine Arts in art education or studio art, Bachelor of Arts in studio art or art history and Masters of Fine Arts in studio art. Summary of Job Duties

The Administrative Support Supervisor manages all aspects of the front office including personnel management, correspondence and record-keeping, department communications, and overall office functions. This position hires, trains, and supervises hourly front office staff to ensure adherence to instructions, deadlines, and proper procedures. The Administrative Support Supervisor works closely with the department chairperson to plan and maintain the department calendar of meetings and events and is responsible for communicating events internally to students and faculty and externally to the community. This position also coordinates department activities and events. The Administrative Support Supervisor assists faculty with clerical and administrative needs and is responsible for researching and preparing special reports and examining and verifying documents. This position performs other duties as assigned.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

  • The formal education of a high school diploma
  • At least one year of specialized training in business management, business education, or a related field
  • At least four years of experience in administrative support, including one year in a supervisory or leadership capacity

  • Experience working in an administrative role in higher education, specifically at the University of Arkansas
  • Experience with Microsoft office
  • Experience writing reports and documents
  • Experience working with faculty, staff, students, visitors, and visiting scholars and artists
  • Advanced experience with the University of Arkansas BASIS and UAConnect systems
  • Demonstrated strong skills in managing and overseeing all aspects of a department's day to day business
