Summary of Job Duties

The Project/Program Manager is responsible for supervising regional ArkSTART Coordinators. This position supports coordinators to complete all training requirements for attaining national START certification. The Project/Program Manager will provide consultation and assistance to provider agencies who make referrals on behalf of individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) and behavioral health needs. This position is also responsible for regional data collection as required for contract reporting and national data set.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

  • Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field
  • A minimum of five years of experience serving individuals with developmental disabilities and/or behavioral health conditions

Preferred Qualifications
  • A minimum of five years of experience working with individuals who have a dual diagnosis (developmental disability and behavioral health condition)
  • Experience in crisis intervention
  • Experience with START model and/or previous START Coordinator Certification.
  • Experience with Positive Behavioral Supports and/or PBS certification
  • At least two years of experience in personnel supervision


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Knowledge of required steps in attaining START certification
  • Ability to provide effective consultation to referring agencies that provide services to individuals with I/DD
  • Ability to enter data into nation START data-base
  • Ability to provide effective supervision of staff
