Summary of Job Duties

Helping to take a successful program in Food Safety and Education to the next level of becoming increasingly more competitive nationally.
Conduct gut microbiome sequencing from food animals including chicken and cattle but not limited.
Conduct animal studies included housing, management, sample collection and data analysis.
Conduct basic microbiological and molecular skills on food borne pathogen detection and identification.
Manage laboratory included training and ordering materials.
Manage IBC and IACUC related to the animal experiments.
Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

B.S. in Animal Science or related field.

M.S. in Animal Science or related field.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

Strong verbal and written communication skills; organizational skills; laboratory management.
Demonstrated proficiency in molecular research methods. A strong background in molecular biology with experience with RNA and DNA. Animal care experience is important.
