Summary of Position:
The work is centered on developing solutions for problems identified by sponsors both internal (UNCW) and external. Determine ways to translate the research solutions into academic scholarly work and commercial opportunities via patents, licenses, or business spinouts.
Ph.D. in Computer Science or Engineering
3 years experience in a soft money research lab
3 years experience in developing deep learning solutions focused on face recognition or facial analytics, biometric, identity science, computer vision, and machine learning.
Experience managing others, faculty, students, and staff
10 publications in the computer vision or machine learning space
5 years experience in developing solutions for sponsored research in computer vision, biometrics, deep learning, and other machine learning techniques.
5 years experience managing research projects and teams.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit:
The Department of Computer Science is a community of scholars dedicated to excellence in teaching, scholarship, research, and service.
