Position Summary: The Administrative Specialist I works under general supervision and is responsible for examining and verifying documents, preparing routine correspondence, and maintaining files. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

DESCRIPTION

  • Greet students, faculty, and staff at the front desk
  • Answer the incoming phone calls and direct them to the appropriate person
  • Answers the majority of admission status check phone calls
  • Manages the OIP email account
  • Trains and manages student worker staff
  • Oversees and monitors the front desk check-in software
  • Monitors the online chat
  • Other duties as assigned

General Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Other: Professional customer service.
Knowledge/Skills/Ability: Knowledge of:
Record keeping procedures, The principles and practices of mathematics and statistics, Work-related subject area, and Computers and software applications.

Ability to:
Conduct research and compile data into report form, Establish and maintain filing systems, Operate standard office equipment, Analyze documents to determine compliance with rules, regulations, and procedures, and Communicate both orally and in writing.
Minimum Qualifications: The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma.
