Position Summary: The Financial Aid Analyst is responsible for providing, obtaining, processing, and packaging student financial aid information and coordinating the compiling of data for various financial aid programs. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

DESCRIPTION

  • Assist with student registration processes & issues.
  • Send registration notification information.
  • Scan incoming transcripts.
  • Run audits.
  • Assist with graduation notification.
  • Communicate with online students via telephone calls, e-mails and some walk-in students.
  • Work entering transfer data will be required, including: transcript evaluation, course work data entry (including verification of repeated courses, duplicate courses or data entry errors), sending course descriptions to departments for equivalency evaluations.



General Days/Hours: Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

The A-State Online Service (AOS) office serves over 4,000 enrolled students, as well as assisting with and processing applications for approximately 1,000 potential students per semester. The office also helps students with academic and financial aid advising, and class registration.
Knowledge/Skills/Ability: Knowledge of:
Supervisory practices and procedures, Student financial aid programs, standards and procedures, Counseling and interviewing techniques, and Principles and practices of money management.

Ability to:
Review and evaluate student financial needs and prepare appropriate financial aid package, Disseminate information orally and in writing, Collect, analyze, compile, and record data on financial aid, and Supervise the work of subordinates.
Minimum Qualifications: The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree with a major in general business or related field; plus one year of experience in student financial aid or related area. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management.
