Position Summary: The Administrative Specialist II is responsible for researching and preparing special reports, examining and verifying documents, and performing general office duties. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.
- Serves as receptionist for the Finance and Administration Division by greeting, answering phones and directing visitors
- Process employee status forms and other personnel related documents
- Picks up and distributes mail on a daily basis
- Assists new hires with completion of employment documents including I-9's, W-4's, and payroll information
- Serves as a liaison with various internal and external constituents to schedule conference rooms and other events
- Processes exit interviews and employment verification requests
- Provides exceptional customer service within a team environment
General Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Knowledge/Skills/Ability: Proficiency in:
Microsoft computer applications, with the ability to work with a variety of software packages related to higher education
Analyze documents to determine compliance with rules, regulations, and
procedures, Effectively communicate both orally and in writing, and Provide exceptional customer service
Minimum Qualifications: The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus two years of experience in a specialized or related area applicable to work performed. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management.
