Job Summary/Basic Function: The College of Arts and Sciences seeks applications from qualified candidates for a full-time non-tenure track lecturer beginning fall 2017. Specialization sought is open but preference will be given to those candidates who have experience teaching statistics. The regular teaching load is 4/5. Summer teaching assignments may be available but are not guaranteed.

Work Hours: Flexible to suit course schedule.

We cannot accept transcripts issued directly to the candidate. If transcripts are from an international institution, it is the responsibility of the prospective faculty member to have the transcripts translated and evaluated by an approved credential evaluator.

Qualifications

Education

Necessary Qualifications: A Master's degree in Sociology or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.

A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Sociology.

Preferred Qualifications: A Ph.D. degree in Sociology or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.

Experience

Necessary Qualifications: Evidence of active research.

A minimum of one year college or university teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Willingness to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Broad training in Sociology.

Familiarity with the needs of a non-traditional, first-generation, culturally diverse student body.

Familiarity with high-impact educational practices such as cooperative education, service learning, and undergraduate research.
