Position Summary: The Department of Family Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a leader in innovative approaches to clinical care and teaching, is seeking an experienced MD or DO with career interests in Correctional Health. The position will be located at Central Prison Hospital in Raleigh, NC and will provide clinical duties in partnership with NC Department of Public Safety, including inpatient wards and urgent care. The position will also require teaching and supervision of UNC medical students and Family Medicine residents while performing clinical care in Correctional Health and participation in the development of curriculum in Correctional Health Care for UNC School of Medicine and Family Medicine Residency Programs. Preferred candidates should be board certified in Family Medicine, have Correctional Health Care experience, and interests in teaching a variety of learners, including medical students, family medicine residents, and fellows. Fellowship training and/or an advanced degree (e.g. MPH) is highly desirable but not mandatory. Faculty rank and salary is commensurate with experience plus excellent UNC faculty benefits.
Education Requirements: MD or DO, board certified in Family Medicine.
Qualification and Experience: Correctional Health Care experience required.
