Duties: The Institutional Research and Application Development (IRAD) Data Analyst works closely with clients from academic and administrative units throughout the School of Arts and Sciences and produces complex reports, analyses and visualizations across multiple data sources. The position also provides report development and general support services to clients using databases and applications developed in the School. A thorough knowledge of relational database theory and reporting structures, SQL and query tools is a requirement. Familiarity with, Tableau, QlikView, Crystal Reports or Power BI is desirable. Some familiarity with University Data Warehouse collections is a plus. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES * Develop queries and reports to extract and organize relevant data from multiple local databases and University data collections using Business Objects, Crystal Reports, SQL, Toad for Oracle, SQL Developer or other applicable tools. * Create and refine data visualization and interactive dashboards using QlikView, Tableau, Power BI, SQL Server Reporting and other software. * Participate in the maintenance and development of online web reporting capabilities. * Work closely with clients from academic and administrative units to define requirements and solutions and provide decision support consultations. * Partner with IT staff to develop efficient data structures, provide access to data and participate in data conversion and data migration efforts. * Collaborate with financial analysts on complex analyses. * Document best practices, processes, utilities and reports.

Qualifications: Required: *BA/BS or equivalent experience. *Minimum of 3 years of experience with data analysis, reporting and excellent knowledge of SQL and relational database theory. *Knowledge of Business Objects, Crystal Reports, Oracle/Oracle-based development/query tools. *Knowledge of visualization software such as QlikView, Tableau or Power BI is preferred. Familiarity with statistical concepts is a plus. *High level of proficiency in MS Office suite including Excel and Access. *Excellent communication and customer service skills. *Process oriented; experience documenting systems and workflow processes. *Accurate and detail oriented and ability to multitask.
