Posting Summary:
The Department of Parking and Transportation at the University of Virginia is seeking reliable, energetic individuals to serve as Part-Time Bike UVA Ambassadors.

Bike UVA Ambassadors work to increase awareness and knowledge of safe cycling at and around the University of Virginia through educational workshops and other outreach methods. Bike UVA Ambassadors lead regularly scheduled bike maintenance workshops to teach cyclists basic maintenance skills, rules of the road, and to encourage cyclists to use proper safety equipment such as properly fitted helmets and bike lights. Bike UVA Ambassadors also assist with the promotion of the University's bike share program, UBike.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be able to communicate fluently (read, write, speak) in the English language.

Must have an intimate knowledge of cycling rules and regulations, to include traffic safety rules.

Must posess the ability to conduct and teach general bike repair and maintenance.

Strong public speaking ability is required.
