About The Unit:

Unit Job Summary: Manuscript Editor, Critical Inquiry: Assists the Managing Editor of the journal with all aspects of publication, in particular the editing and preparation of manuscripts and proofreading of galleys and page proofs. Conducts research to verify accuracy of facts and citations. Serves as liaison between editors and authors. Assists in the overall operation of journal editorial office.

Unit Education: Bachelor's degree required. Graduate course work in English, philosophy, or art history preferred.

Unit Experience: A minimum of two years of experience copyediting (newspaper work does not qualify) required. Prior publishing experience preferred.

Unit Job Function Competencies: Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Strong organizational skills required. Attention to detail required. Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to be tactful, required. Ability to responsibly handle confidential matters required.
