The Phoenix Center at Auraria has an opening for a Full-Time University Staff (unclassified) Victim Services Coordinator position.

Professionals at the intermediate level are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field.

At the intermediate level, duties may be more limited in scope and are performed with guidance and direction from other professionals.

Job Summary:

This position addresses the needs of students, faculty and staff on the CU Denver campus, who have experienced sexual assault, sexual harassment, stalking and interpersonal violence, through confidential advocacy services, crisis intervention, and referrals. The position reports to the Director of the Phoenix Center (PCA). The Victim Services Coordinator will develop and manage direct victim services at CU Denver and report directly to the Director of the PCA. The PCA is under the umbrella of Student Affairs at CU Denver, and serves all students on the Auraria Campus, which includes Metro State University and Community College of Denver.

PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses, if applicable.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position has been established at $44,000 to $50,000 and is commensurate with skills and experience.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in social science, women and gender studies, psychology, counseling, student affairs, or a directly related field from an accredited institution
  • One year of professional level experience providing interpersonal violence victim survivor assistance.


Condition of Employment:

Completion of a minimum of 40 hours of training as a victim's advocate for sexual assault and domestic violence, as per Colorado Revised Statute 13-90-107 (certificate or letter of completion required).

Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in in social science, women and gender studies, psychology, counseling, criminal justice, student affairs, or a directly related field from an accredited institution a related field
  • Licensed clinical social worker or counselor
  • Progressive and extensive experience providing direct Interpersonal Violence victim services
  • Experience recruiting, training and supervising volunteers and/or interns

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating theories of intersectionality and cultural competence in trauma response services.
