VCHA - Colorado Center for Personalized Medicine has an opening for a full-time, University Staff (unclassified) ETL Developer position.

Compass services are based on a combination of traditional on-premises systems and cutting-edge, cloud based technologies. The primary responsibility of the ETL Developer will be to design and develop the processes required to extract, transform, cleanse, and load the data into the enterprise data warehouse and data marts.
The ETL Developer will also have a role in the design of the data and systems architecture for the data warehouse including normalized and dimensional data modeling, working to develop solutions to address data warehouse query performance and quality issues including data profiling, developing/enhancing technical standards, and consult with other IT teams and users on optimal use of the data warehouse to solve business problems.

- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related field from an accredited institution and 2 years professional level experience in the IT field
- Experience with healthcare data from EMRs like Epic.
- Experience in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence.
- Experience in ETL design, development, performance and validation and a variety of ETL development tools, e.g., Informatica, SSIS, Talend.
- Direct experience with enterprise data warehouses.
Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
- 5+ years in IT related field.
- 3+ years Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence experience.
- 3+ years of technical experience relating to ETL design, development, performance and validation.
- Experience with Python/JS/R.
- Experience with any type of -omic data.
- Experience with Google BigQuery and with public cloud platforms and secure storage of data.
- Experience working as a team member using Agile/Scrum
- Extensive experience with securing sensitive data and systems, including firewalls, networking and infrastructure.
- Experience working closely with fellow employees and vendor resources.
Competencies / Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to excel in an integrated environment, working closely with various IT/Business/Clinical teams to accomplish objectives.
- Advanced level of knowledge of SQL.
- Demonstrated ability to design, develop and validate complex database load and maintenance processes with ETL tools.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and schedule the ETL run cycle within the allowable window of load time.
- Ability to analyze clinical and business source systems on a variety of platforms.
- Attention to detail and comprehension of detailed business requirements, asking questions as appropriate.
- Self-starter and driven to accomplish delivery of data for research to support the department's vision.
