$60,000 ANNUAL (12 months)
Degree and Area of Specialization:
PhD (or ABD) in early childhood, elementary, and/or ESL bilingual education or related field.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Must have at least two (2) years of experience teaching at the college level and PK-8 teaching experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of teacher preparation practices and research.
Commitment to equity scholarship and anti-racist practices.
Successful experience designing and facilitating adult learning and/or professional development.
The Department of Curriculum & Instruction is home to an undergraduate Elementary Education teacher preparation program with four distinct subprograms: Early childhood/English as a Second Language (birth-age 8), Middle Childhood/Early Adolescence (MCEA)/ESL (grade 1-8), MCEA/Special Ed, and MCEA content focused. These four semester programs begin when students are juniors and include coursework and field placements. We are seeking a faculty associate to coordinate the field placements for students in EC/ESL, MCEA/ESL, and MCEA content focused programs, and teach practicum and student teaching seminars in collaboration with supervisors.
This position may be extended or made renewable depending on department need and funding.
