Responsibilities

Manage all aspects of the Garnet and Gold Scholar Society (GGSS) program administrative process, including back-end system, overall program advisors, and engagement area contacts. Provide ongoing training opportunities and materials. Manage student experience in the Garnet & Gold Scholar Society, including; student removal and appeal process, marketing, programming, and outreach, approval of Intent to Participate forms, and assisting students through completion. Provide advising to students going through process. Create specialized programming for GGSS students. Supervise and oversee graduate assistant and intern responsibilities, including semesterly induction ceremony and reception, drop-in advising and individual student meetings, and outreach, student programming and marketing. Assist Office Manager with the administering workshop tracking system and associated data reporting. Provide backup to the Associate Director on the administration of The Career Portfolio application. Provide outreach presentations, programming, career advising, and support for the Career Center events and services. Act as liaison to a specified college or department, including providing specialized programming, outreach, resource development, and career advising.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience related to the duties of the position (Note: A higher level of education may substitute at the equivalent rate).
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations. Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives. Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Knowledge of applicable computer applications and basic computer functions. Ability to interpret academic program requirements and provide advice. Knowledge of career counseling tools and resources. Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously. Knowledge of student programs and activities. Ability to utilize problem solving skills. Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices of career counseling and development. Knowledge of the principles and practices of student program planning, development, and evaluation.

Other Information

Coordinates all aspects of the Garnet & Gold Scholar Society program, including recruitment, training, and management of advisors; management of student process from intake to induction; marketing and outreach; and management of back-end system.

Pay Plan

This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.
