LOCATION:  San Tan Campus – San Tan Valley, Arizona            

JOB SUMMARY: Provide case management support to Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) eligible clients to ensure their successful completion of training and/or employment objectives. Provide follow-up services to all WIOA clients who have left the WIOA program to ensure job retention, wage gains, and career development.  This position is dependent upon grant funding.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The incumbent will:

  • Identify participant issues and challenges that may impede progress and success through active interaction.  Link participants with appropriate professionals and/or supporting resources as needed.  Meet with designated clients on a regular basis to assess on-going training and/or supportive service needs.  Provide counseling to clients to furnish information, resolve problems, motivate, and encouragement.
  • Formulate Individual Service Strategy (ISS) that identifies vocational goals, barriers to employment and supportive service needs. Review ISS, on a regular basis, to ensure continued progress in training or job search program.
  • Document the delivery of services, progress toward goals, and goal attainment through ISS development and revision, and case notes maintained online through the WIOA Case Management System and the participants’ hardcopy files.  Facilitate study skills workshops and work readiness workshops.  Organize other workshops as required.
  • Maintain accurate and complete case notes to outline client progress and to provide reference for all staff involved with the client. Ensure participant eligibility using established requirements and procedures.  Document eligibility using required documentation protocol.
  • Provide guidance and direction to training provider/adult mentor.  Ensure training provider/adult mentor maintains required contact with participants and documents ongoing issues.
  • Provide 12-month follow-up and retention activities to ensure youth are provided with the necessary support and services following program completion and transition to post-exit status.  Work with participants to identify barriers prohibiting self-reliance and productive citizenship.  Employ required retention/post-exit strategies. 
  • Maintain regular contact with participants, supervisors, and/or training/education providers to monitor the youths’ status, identify and provide necessary supports, and intervene as needed.
  • Perform scheduled contact attempts and the retrieval of current status back up documentation.  Coordinate follow-up activities to enhance post-exit services, to increase retention-related performance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

EDUCATION: Two (2) years college (60 credits)

 

      EXPERIENCE:  Two (2) years related experience

The knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform this job include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Knowledge of program development, planning, evaluation, and review with the ability to produce new, imaginative, or innovative solutions different from traditional approaches.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws, rules, and regulations regarding area of practice.
  • Skill in gathering, compiling, and presenting information in oral and/or written form.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with staff, community leaders, faculty, students, and the public.  Skill working in a diverse multi-ethnic, multi-cultural population.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team in accomplishing tasks.
  • Ability to analyze situations, develop solutions, and make independent decisions based on established guidelines.

SALARY:  Entry salary is $41,924.00. Effective July 1, 2017, the entry salary will be $42,343.00

Additionally, each foreign transcript must be evaluated for equivalency to United States accredited course work by an acceptable agency such as those agencies certified by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).
