Responsibilities:

The N.U.in Program is a unique opportunity for freshmen accepted for Spring Admission to Northeastern University. Participants study with one of our international partner institutions around the world during the Fall Semester and enter Northeastern University in the Spring. Partner universities or institutions abroad provide academic courses to the participants while N.U.in staff provide on-site leadership and support services.

We are hiring for N.U.in Site Lead(s) for the following locations including but, not limited to:

  • Australia
  • England
  • Greece (Greek language skills desirable)
  • Germany
  • Canada (Canadian citizenship required)
  • Ireland

    The Site Lead (SL) will be in charge of facets of The N.U.in Program on-site operations for one of the aforementioned N.U.in locations. These facets include, but are not limited to: social, academic, service-learning, student conduct, professional and student staff supervision, as well as serving as a liaison with staff and faculty from the host institution and Boston staff. This demanding leadership position requires a significant amount of patience, flexibility, assertiveness, diplomacy, self-initiative, as well as experience working with students and living abroad.
    Prior to traveling abroad, the SL is expected to attend and participate in a N.U.in staff training in Boston, MA, assist in Pre-Departure Orientation in Boston, and assist with pre-departure preparations and planning activities as assigned by the Boston staff.

    Qualifications:

    This highly demanding position requires a significant amount of patience, flexibility, assertiveness, diplomacy, self-initiative, as well as experience living abroad. The successful candidates will have at least the following qualifications:
    • Master’s Degree in relevant field such as Higher Education, International Education or Student Development.
    • Minimum 4 years of demonstrated student service experience or higher education experience in a residence life or student affairs capacity.
    • Experience living with or working with students (in a counselor, residence life, student affairs, or related role).
    • Demonstrated experience with crisis management.
    • Flexibility and demonstrated ability to excel in fast-paced environments.
    • Experience living, working, or studying abroad.
    • Proven ability to coordinate and manage events for large groups with attention to detail.
    • Teaching and classroom management experience.
    • Proven experience with student and/or professional staff supervision and management.
    • Proven ability to work well under stressful conditions and how to take actions that satisfy diverse interest while achieving programmatic goals.
    • Location/area experience preferred.
    • German, Greek, Italian or Mandarin language experience preferred.

    Additional Information:
    This position is a temporary, non-benefits eligible position.

    Pre-Departure Orientation I &II (PDO); Boston, July 8th - 11th 2017
