The Associate Vice President for Higher Education will work as a member of the Higher Education team, offering CAEL’s higher education services to new and existing higher education institutions. Candidate must have experience in generating new leads, matching client needs with CAEL’s existing services, demonstrating the value proposition of products and services from a distance and in-person, and closing sales against monthly and yearly targets.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Engage targeted prospects and orchestrate discussions based upon their current needs, strategic plans and readiness for various products and services
  • Demonstrate CAEL’s products and services to universities, colleges, higher education systems and institutional consortiums
  • Ability to listen and understand where the client is currently in the process of recruiting, retaining and graduating adult students
  • Attend local, regional and national networking events and conferences to generate new leads
  • A strong desire to learn all of CAEL’s offerings, understand how they integrate with the High Education services and products
  • Focus on closing sales as well as building long-term relationships with institutions by serving as a resource, referring them to other areas of CAEL in order to meet and/or exceed their needs
  • Meet or exceed new sales, client satisfaction and client retention goals
  • Create new sales lead letters and emails, PowerPoint presentations, and draft proposals
  • Respond to inquiries, track leads, deals and other pipeline activities in HubSpot or other CRM and manage client relationships
  • 25% - 50% travel required

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of three years’ successful client relationship sales and customer service
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, Master’s degree preferred. Education is considered to include both the formal/traditional, as well as learning from life and work experience
  • Familiarity with higher education sector necessary
  • Proven track record of consultative sales
  • The ability to work across sectors and departments, interacting with team members in other areas at CAEL to create solutions for ensuring adult student success

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to initiate new sales and increase client satisfaction and retention
  • Superior written and oral presentation skills
  • Superior presentation skills, both in-person and online (GoToMeeting.com, Adobe Connect, Skype)
  • Superior client relationship skill
  • Superior project management and organization skills including understanding of budget processes
  • Passion for lifelong learning
  • Ability to collaborate and work as part of a team
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and work autonomously
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willingness and availability to travel
