Assistant Professor Spanish
Savannah State University seeks qualified applicants for Assistant Professor of Spanish; a tenure-track position for the academic year. This position instructs courses in accordance with departmental curricular policies and practices; generally teaches a twelve-hour teaching load (four three-hour classes) each semester. Participates in program assessment activities, department, and college meetings; maintains at least ten office hours per week. Plans, meets and evaluates all assigned classes; builds a record of scholarship and research; performs service for the university, community and professions. Complies with all University policies, procedures, requirements and deadlines; meets all deadlines for reporting grades and submitting academic reports. May be directed to perform job related tasks other than those specifically delineated in this description. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
A Ph.D. in Spanish; college level teaching experience required. Qualifications to teach Portuguese and three years of college level teaching experience preferred.
