SENIOR BUSINESS MANAGER
Pathology - General

Provide leadership for the daily financial management of the department.

Participate in planning departmental budget needs by analyzing program plans on both a short and long term basis including projecting possible levels of support from multiple sources of funding; confer with administration and faculty to analyze and recommend priorities and goals for future department needs.

Participate with the planning and creation of the departments School of Medicine and PDC budgets annually.

Work to meet or exceed budgetary goals through appropriate oversight and stewardship.

Provide monthly analysis for variances.

Monitor trends of revenue and expenses.

Determine fiscal requirements, make projections, prepare financial statements reflecting status of programs and activities, ensure compliance with University financial policies and procedures.

Oversee the monthly FAM validation process performed by the financial analyst to ensure timely reporting and to meet deadlines.

Assist in the development of more efficient and effective processes and systems of the financial accounting activities.

Ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements and the creation and maintenance of internal controls. Partner closely with the PRMO Revenue

Manager to understand and assist with analysis of revenue cycle functions.

Review accounts receivable balances and collection status.

Provide monthly reporting analysis to present to leadership.

Represent department head in meetings and conferences and other affairs of an administrative or financial nature.

Supervise and coordinate work of designated employees in the department business office.

Provide leadership as well as training and mentoring to develop staff.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Education

Work requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or a closely related field.

Experience

Work requires a minimum of eight years progressively responsible experience in administrative management, to include proficiency in budgeting, grants and contracts, personnel supervision and space and facilities management. A Master's degree in Business Administration, Hospital Administration, Accounting or a closely related field may substitute for two years of required experience. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Preferences:

Healthcare financial management, budgeting and analysis, revenue cycle management.

Knowledge and proficiency in systems such as SAP, dFacto, Business Warehouse.

*Advanced Excel skills utilizing pivot tables and analytical functions.
