Job description

Duties: This position is a frontline fundraiser responsible for actively managing a portfolio of 50+ corporate and foundation prospects and donors, primarily in the Northeast region, including Southeastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and New England. This staff member will develop new business leads in collaboration with colleagues in Wharton external affairs, including major gifts, annual fund and alumni relations; as well as with colleagues outside external affairs, including Wharton Executive Education and MBA Career Management. The position will partner with the Director of CFR to implement a strategy for engaging with corporate CEOs, particularly focusing on their interaction with Wharton's Dean.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree plus 5-7 years experience as a frontline fundraiser in a nonprofit setting is required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preference for candidates with experience working with corporate and foundation funders. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to function with high degree of independence with an assigned group of prospects, yet interact with colleagues in a centralized framework and contribute to a total team effort. Must be able to interact comfortably with faculty, administrators and CEO level contacts. Knowledge of corporations, foundations and/or management education desirable. Ability to travel up to twenty percent.
