Posting Information: The School of Engineering + Technology at Western Carolina University houses multiple programs in Engineering and Engineering Technology (http://engineering.wcu.edu). These programs have a strong focus on practice, using a Project-Based Learning (PBL) core. Programs in the WCU School of Engineering + Technology include: ABET accredited ETAC programs: - Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology (Applied Systems) - Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology ABET accredited EAC programs: - Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering We will be seeking ABET EAC accreditation in Fall 2017 for the following program: - Bachelor of Science in Engineering - Mechanical - Master of Science in Technology We are seeking a visiting Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering with one or more areas of expertise in: - Thermodynamics, Fluid Dynamics, and Heat and Mass Transfer - Project Based Learning (PBL) - Materials and Manufacturing Processes - Computer Aided Design This is a nine-month fixed-term position.The successful candidate will have a solid commitment to teaching at the undergraduate level. Candidates with extensive practical laboratory and experimentation backgrounds are highly desirable. Responsibilities include instruction and service to the school. Many opportunities for service exist within the school.

Minimum Training & Experience Requirements: At least three years of relevant industry experience are required. Degrees in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required. A masters degree or higher is required by the starting date.
