Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science required, preferably in Health Administration, Business Administration, or Finance.
Master's degree in health administration, business administration, or finance preferred.



Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

4 years of experience in small-to-medium size business management preferred.

Experience in management and administration of clinical research activities in a corporate or academic medical center is desirable.



Position Summary:

The Operations Manager will direct operations within the Fundus Photograph Reading Center (FPRC), a clinical research unit within the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences (DOVS). The Fundus Photograph Reading Center (FPRC) provides medical expertise and specialized diagnostic services in support of clinical trials and epidemiologic studies of eye diseases. The FPRC serves as one of the top-ranking ocular imaging centers within the United States and provides service to the federal government, pharmaceutical industry and academic institutions throughout the United States and the world. The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences considers basic science and clinical research one of the fundamental pillars of its academic mission. One-half of its nearly 60 faculty members are actively engaged in research, evenly divided between basic research and epidemiologic or clinical research. These faculty members are supported by more than 150 other staff. This position will provide critical day-to-day leadership and decision making for research faculty and principal investigators. This position will serve as the primary decision maker for FPRC business functions.
