University Health Services
Provide leadership for student and staff committees including, but not limited to, Healthy Campus Strategic Health Teams. Develop and implement value added programs for targeted and high risk populations within the campus community and the University Health Services population. Develop nutrition, physical activity and wellness education materials for multi-media health promotion initiatives. Assist the Center for Health Advocacy and Wellness team in identifying and implementing strategies to address harm reduction, wellness promotion, and disease prevention.
Conduct needs assessments and literature reviews in regards to environmental and individual influences on nutrition, physical activity, and wellness of college students. Develop a strategic plan utilizing best practices set forth by the American College Health Association*s Standards of Practice for Health Promotion in Higher Education and Healthy Campus 2020. Apply public health and evidence-based approaches to population-based strategic plan development and implementation. Develop assessment and evaluation instruments to measure the effectiveness of the plan.
Train and supervise part-time RD, Dietetic Interns (DI), Directed Independent Study (DIS) students, and Nutrition Educators (NE) in providing nutrition education, developing nutrition education materials and presentations. Supervise coordination of Eating Disorders Treatment Team. Develop learning objectives and evaluation tools to assess knowledge, skill development, and critical thinking skills of DI, DIS, and NEs. Develop assessment and evaluation instruments to measure the effectiveness of nutrition care provided to inform improvement in nutrition services. Provide training, guidance, and support for peer health education and advocacy program (Healthy Noles).
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college and course work accredited or approved by Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) and two years of experience as a Dietitian.
Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) which qualifies incumbent to use the title Registered Dietitian Nutritionist or RDN.
License/certification FL Licensed Dietitian
Collaborative work style with self-directed initiative with great time management and presentation skills.
Experience developing prevention initiatives/programs for a specific population.
Familiar with health promotion theories, evidence based best practices, outcome evaluation, statistical analysis, and health behavior research methodologies.
Ability to provide leadership and problem solving skills in analyzing the health needs of college students.
Ability to incorporate multicultural diversity and social justice concepts and principles into health and wellness.
Excellent interpersonal, analytical, communication and organizational skills; computer literate.
Experience working with college student populations.
At least 3 years of current, relevant experience in college health promotion, wellness and early intervention.
Knowledge of various food and nutrition related diet trends such as natural, organic, trans fat, whole grains, and gluten free.
Knowledge of public health and disease state trends such as eating disorders and diabetes.
This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.
