This position is responsible for coordinating and carrying out numerous projects simultaneously related to the operations of the Department of Orientation and Commuter Student Involvement.

Primary duties and responsibilities:
Specific duties as they relate to the Department of Orientation and Commuter Student Involvement:
• Assist with the design, planning, and implementation of ’Cane Kickoff - the New Student and Family Orientation programs for the fall semester. ’Cane Kickoff involves all new students, including first-year, transfer, international and exchange. Involves staff training, coordination of volunteers, facilitating sessions, event planning, and assessment initiatives.
• Assist in planning and executing the Great Start summer pre-orientation program.
• Assist in the design and planning of the University’s Family Weekend program, including development of publications for the program, management of the registration and payment system, event planning, and responding to parent inquiries.
• Co-supervise the performance of assigned tasks for student staff.
• Assist in daily operations such as assisting new students and their parents, faculty, and staff with customer service issues and information. Maintain office records, files, typing correspondence, and answering telephones and emails.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):
• Knowledge of MS suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of routine office practices and procedures.
• Ability to utilize computerized information systems.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

Education Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
