Administrative Associate I/S
Business ManagerPosition Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for oversight and management of unit budgets including salary and operating fund lines, endowment income, online educational program, Dairy operations and $33 million, multi-country international project; unit budget planning, forecasting and reporting; fiscal officer approval of payroll, human resource systems for faculty, academic staff, students and temporary employees as well as electronic expenditure transactions; manages unit purchasing card assignments and transaction reporting; distributes grant funding opportunities to faculty and academic staff; will work with faculty to provide information and prepare grant budgets; reviews funding guidelines and assists with preparation of grant proposal application packages accordingly; works with Office of Sponsored Projects during proposal submissions process; prepares and submits e-transmittals; provides unit review and approval of unit grant proposals and e-transmittals; works with Chairperson to creatively prepare proposals and application packages for complex, multi-unit; collaborative funding opportunities, including international; unit review and approval of circular actions as needed; administers allocations for teaching, research and outreach activities; monitors and reconciles unit general fund, salary, operating, discretionary and endowment accounts; processes electronic accounting documents, reconciles accounts monthly and provides reporting; oversees unit facilities and inventory; coordinates renovation projects; administers funding for unit scholarship and fellowship programs, teaching assistant and undergraduate mentoring programs; engages with faculty and staff to administer scholarship and course assistance application and selection process; provides leadership and supervises unit support staff and conducts annual reviews; serves as resource for unit information; annually reviews and updates access to university systems for all department personnel; serves as part of unit administrative team and assists Chairperson with unit reporting and special projects.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Business Administration, Accounting, Management or field related to employing unit; five to eight years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in financial or accounting practices, developing research projects, funding and grant practices and/or experience in a field related to the area of employment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Desired Qualifications
