Position Summary

Manages and oversees the financial, operational, and personnel activities of a primary care clinic; assists in coordinating total patient care in order to maintain clinic efficiency; provides direct nursing and patient care, counseling, and instruction to patients regarding their symptoms, diagnosis, recovery; refers to other healthcare professionals as appropriate; sets and maintains nursing care standards; maintains registries; serves as electronic health record super user; develops and evaluates health care protocols, quality assurance, and risk management in conjunction with other professionals; assure compliance with department and HealthTeam operating policies and procedures; assists in preparation of clinical budget.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Business or Healthcare Administration or a related field; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in a medical clinic practice, ambulatory setting or health facility involving physician practice, including experience in management and supervision; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  

Desired Qualifications

Possession of a current license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Michigan.

Duties associated with this position include exposure to human blood, serum, tissue and other body fluids; and materials covered under Universal Precautions; TB risk or work within three feet of patients in a health care setting; wear a respirator.
