1) General purchasing/procurement experience.

Student Health Center (SHC) at Texas State University is seeking a Procurement Specialist for general purchasing and procurement of goods/services, furniture/equipment, accounts payable and goods receipts for San Marcos and Round Rock Student Health Centers. This position assists with the bid and contracting process and is responsible for purchasing & contract file maintenance.
The Student Health Center (SHC) is a nationally accredited, team-oriented ambulatory health care facility complete with an in-house lab, x-ray, and pharmacy which serves a student population of over 38,000. Work hours M-F 8am to 5pm. Additional hours occasionally required.
The purpose of this position is to support the Assistant Director with general purchasing and procurement of goods/services, furniture/equipment; accounts payable and goods receipts for San Marcos and Round Rock Student Health Centers. This position assists with bids and the contracting process. The duties are mainly related to procurement and contracting which include, but are not limited to: research goods and service options for procurement requests, create Purchase Requisitions &/or Purchase Orders in SAP and e-Procurement system; procurement card purchases; prepare change notices; reconcile invoices; research and resolve vendor setup and accounts payable issues; confirm receipt of merchandise and process goods receipts; maintain Quickbooks; maintain continuing education balances for SHC employees; maintain framework purchase order balances to ensure expenses are within budget; assist with service and contract renewals; maintain purchase order and contract files.
