The Department of English in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, University of Colorado Denver, seeks an instructor of Creative Writing with a specialization in Fiction. A demonstrable record of excellence in teaching is required. A PhD in Creative Writing is preferred, although MFAs will be considered. A strong publication record is also preferred. Courses will include introduction to creative writing (dual genre, poetry and fiction) and intermediate fiction courses (both in the classroom and online).
The downtown campus is located in the heart of the city's commercial, cultural and recreational district. Its location in downtown Denver attracts a diverse population, comprising primarily commuters, many of whom are non-traditional students. The teaching load for this position is 4/4. Position begins September 1, 2017 with a nine-month contract. A three-year contract may be awarded after the first year, depending on performance.
