This position is with the University Business Administrators Program located at the College of Law.
Ensures that the College of Law receives the agreed upon financial and administrative services in a timely and effective manner as required to meet their program objectives. This includes reports to the law school accrediting agency (American Bar Association) and other national reporting groups such as the Association of American Law Schools and U.S. News and World Report magazine. Responsible for oversight/supervision and monitoring the financial positions of the site; developing management reports; participating in any projects designed to expand or enhance the financial, human resources or operational systems to meet the client needs. Serves as the Budget Account Manager and approves all financial transactions as directed by the Dean. Directs site staff in routine duties necessary to assure accurate and timely preparation of financial reports and other related business functions. Coordinates and manages the recruitment, hiring, training and evaluation of all assigned UBA staff. This position assists in reconciling tuition and enrollment numbers to determine actual funding requirements from the Budget Office.
Assures a sound environment of internal controls and compliance by monitoring and reviewing site on an on-going basis. Interprets and communicates policies to staff and client site representatives and provides financial advice and counsel to the administrators of client site and assists with implementation of university financial, human resources, business and administration policies and procedures.
Develops and recommends policies and procedures to Dean, Directors and Department Heads of the College of Law to ensure adherence to the policies of the university, client site, federal, state, as well as generally accepted accounting principles and business practices applied in an environment of sound internal controls.
Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of related experience, or high school diploma or equivalent and 8 years of related experience.(Note: a higher level of education may substitute for experience at the comparable rate.)
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Experience compiling, reviewing, and editing financial information for completeness, accuracy and compliance.
Experience supervising and training employees.
Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.
Experience with applicable computer applications and advanced computer functions.
Knowledge of the concept, principles and practices of management.
Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices of accounting, budgeting, and financial reports.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of fiscal control systems.
Experience in preparing clear and concise reports, policies, procedures, correspondences, and other written materials.
Skill in public speaking.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
Experience in an academic or university setting.
Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.
Anticipated Salary Range
Low 50's to 60's.
This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.
